Our CASA program belongs to a network of 951 community-based programs that recruit, train and support citizen-volunteers to advocate in juvenile court for the best interests of children who have been abused and neglected

David Soukup, a King County Superior Court judge who came up with the idea to give children court-appointed advocates, died Dec. 16, the day after his 90th birthday, from natural causes.

Fortunately, among the many organizations that bring help to others, is one that focuses on such children and over the years has come to the rescue of thousands of children in the region, including hundreds in Kingsport.
